Abstract

All symbols are constructed through speech act and behavior language, and can ultimately be interpreted by their interplay. A deep understanding of three different systems of symbols, namely, speech act, behavior language, and other symbols, leads to a reasonable explanation of literature and art. Changes in symbolic conventions are the direct cause of evolutions in literary and artistic styles. When the changes involve the concept and the system of literature and art, that is, involving changes in the paradigm of speech acts behind symbols and lead to the reconfiguration of the tension between speech acts and behavior language, they would reconstruct people’s sensory configurations, reshape people’s sensation, and give rise to important events in the development of literature and art.
