About authors:
Jean-Charles Darmon has taught in various universities in United States and France, and performed various academic roles in universities. Since 1999, he was Professor of French Literature at the University of Versailles, and from 2006 to 2009, he was nominated as the vice president of the Ecole Normale Superieure, in charge of Humanities and Social Sciences. He was also one of the 3 directors and présidents who created the Institute for Advanced Studies in Paris. Since 2010, he shares his teaching and research activities between the University of Versailles and the ENS, where he is in charge of a research program, which is now part or an interdisciplinary structure recently created by the CNRS. His main research covers the relationships between literature and philosophy in the Classical Era, and he has authored dozens of books and papers.
