The Boat as Polis: Some Issues of the Political Philosophy in Early Greek Poetry

Abstract: The early Greek lyric poetry is not only about love or love story, but also responds to the revolution of the 6th century B.C. It reflects the fundamental experiences of the transition from aristocracy to democracy, which is the focus of this paper when examining the poems of Solon, Alcaeus and Theogenis.
