摘要:

在还原主义盛行的艺术研究领域,保罗·克劳瑟的形式主义美学却反其道而行,他以康德的艺术思考,特别是其有关“崇高”的思想为起点,结合分析哲学与现象学的研究理路,形成了独特的后分析现象学方法。他以此重新思考和探究艺术的本质(“内在意涵”),开辟了研究现代艺术和后现代艺术(抽象艺术、观念艺术、数字艺术等等)的新路径和新的阐释可能。另外,基于其对艺术本质的新认识,克劳瑟的后分析现象学方法,也将适用于其尚未重点关注的领域(如“局外人艺术”等),为关于后者的研究提供新的认知、实践和解释方式。

Abstract:

In the context of reductionist approaches to art studies, Paul Crowther’s formalist aesthetics presents itself as a unique post-analytic phenomenological framework and methodology, by way of Kantian thoughts on ideas on the sublime, and by incorporating analytic philosophy and phenomenology into its approach to art studies. Within this framework, Crowther reflects and explores the significance of art, providing a new way to understand and interpret modern and postmodern artistic practices such as abstract art, conceptual art, and digital art. In addition, with the refreshed understanding of the significance of art, Crowther proves that his post-analytic phenomenology may also be applied to the fields beyond his realm, such as the study of outsider art.
